This exciting programme is open to everyone, whatever your level, and includes accredited and non accredited courses.

We offer a professional environment whether you are a complete beginner or working towards a trade qualification. Some courses are very popular, so if you are planning on continuing for more than one term, we strongly recommend enrolling for the following term’s course, or re-enrolling as soon as possible. This is particularly important for students working on a project.

It may be possible to pay course fees by regular installments throughout your course, instead of paying the full amount at the start. Please ask about installment plans when you enrol.

Further education/qualification classes
Courses with a blue band are accredited and are aimed at those who would like to work towards a nationally recognised qualification.

Courses leading to a qualification will require an interview before you can enrol.

Concessions
If you are entitled to a concessionary fee and join any accredited course, you will receive a £20 discount for every additional accredited course you join.

To help pay for course fees and materials, it may be possible to apply for the Learner Support Fund.

Equipment
The department provides most specialised tools and equipment, but you will need to buy the raw materials for your project(s). The course information sheets give detailed information of what students will be expected to bring.

Health and safety
The tools, machines and substances used in classes can be dangerous and you play an important role in ensuring safety. We apply professional standards, so you will be expected to wear the recommended protective clothing and equipment. All accidents or hazards must be reported to your lecturer immediately.

Storing work
There is limited storage.

End of year shows
You will have an opportunity to take part in our annual Arts and Crafts exhibition at the end of the summer term.

It is possible to start most courses in September, January and April. If you choose to study for more than one term your tutor will help you develop your skills throughout the year by setting new targets through your own individual learning plan.
