What will the course cover?

Improving mobility, stamina, flexibility and overall strength as well as co-ordination, balance and concentration.

Who is the course for?

Exercise performed in the water can help to 'cushion' joints whilst using the water as a resistance tool for muscle strengthening. This class is particularly suitable for those with arthritis or other joint conditions.

What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course?

none required apart from confidence in the water. Ability to swim is useful!

What should I be able to do by the end of the course?

see improvements in your overall fitness levels

How is the course organised?

One-hour per week: warm up, aerobic exercise, muscle strengthening, cool down and stretch/relaxation

What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?

None

How will my progress be assessed?

Through tutor and self assessment

What can I expect to go on to after this course?

Join the Advanced class or other activites from the Agewell programme

Are there any other costs and what do I need to bring?

Ensure you have a swimming costume, towel,and other materials you would normally take when swimming. Towelling socks may be beneficial to wear in the pool to guard against slipping on the tiles.
