What will the course cover?

This one session course will give you the ability to create beautiful a Christmas wreath. Your tutor will demonstrate and guide you through the process of conceiving and creating your own wreath.

Who is the course for?

The course is for anyone who would like to learn floristry techniques.

What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course?

No previous experience necessary for this course.

What should I be able to do by the end of the course?

Select your own foliage and other components with confidence. Apply Health and Safety principles as related to cut foliage and other components. Evaluate projects undertaken.

How is the course organised?

Tutor demonstration. Student practice. Questions and discussions.

What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?

Purchasing your own foliage etc. See under 'Are there any other costs and what do I need to bring?'

How will my progress be assessed?

There will be individual feedback from the tutor and between yourself and the tutor and recorded on your one day feedback sheet.

What can I expect to go on to after this course?

Other non-accredited floristry classes or accredited floristry courses.

Are there any other costs and what do I need to bring?

Oasis ring , a 10” one can be purchased at Wilko. Florists should have them also. Pine cones Fir cones Holly/long lasting greenery Coloured Baubles Ribbon Tinsel Secateurs and pliers -if you have them Glue gun -if you have one Anything else you fancy incorporating into the wreath e.g dried orange slices The wreath can be made for the door at as a table piece with or without candles. Christmas pine can be bought from anyone selling Christmas trees. Eucalyptus holly conifer or any other greenery.

What support is available?

Help with literacy or numeracy is available through the basic education programme and the ESOL programme offers help for speakers of other languages. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
