You will be introduced to using a camera and what the manual controls can help you achieve. Also lots of tips on how to take successful pictures, what makes a good composition so that you can record your world in pictures.
Beginners who would like to learn basic camera skills, and what it is involved in producing good photographs.
None, only an enthusiasm to begin taking successful photographs.
Recognise and identify the functions and controls on a camera. Name the different type of film/media and how and when to use them. Demonstrate an understanding of how the use of films and camera settings with different speeds can affect the quality of photographs. Demonstrate an ability to take photographs of a variety of subjects in the home or on location. Begin to develop the ability to evaluate photographs.
Practical classroom session. Talks with slides and examples. Taking photographs critically analysing them.

Help with literacy or numeracy is available through the basic education programme and the ESOL programme offers help for speakers of other languages. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
