Whether you are a complete beginner or experienced user of Instagram, this course will help you get the best out of the platform. You will acquire the tools to plan an eye-catching feed that produces results consistently. You will be working with the Instagram App with step-by-step instruction on how to set-up or tweak your account. We will introduce you to a tool that lets anyone design like a pro. We will give you ample time and support to create stunning graphics for Instagram. Finally, you will learn how to build highly targeted audiences who are interested in your business. The course will cover Instagram best practices, Setting up an account, Personal v. business account, Introduction to Instagram feed, Different types of posts explained, How to create the perfect post, How to grow an Instagram account, How to maintain an Instagram account, Introduction to Paid Ads, How to measure your results.
Whether you run an existing business or have an idea, this course will boost your confidence while getting you better results online. This session will be helpful for those that run or work in businesses, but also social enterprises, charities and societies, that want to understand how to harness Social Media for the benefit of their organisation. Business owners, Charity and community volunteers, anyone with a business idea, Employees, jobseekers or self-employed freelancers.
Your own business idea and the determination to succeed. No previous experience or knowledge of social media is required. You do not even need to have any accounts as yet.
Be aware of the potential for business growth through using online resources; understand the use of Social Media to promote/market your business and help to build its identity. There will be a Private WhatsApp Group for the course. This is to support you up to one month after the session. You will be able to ask questions on the group, obtain additional clarification and for group reminders.
We have a presentation-based session followed by hands-on tasks designed to help you implement necessary actions.
To gain the maximum benefit, you should read recommended books and websites, and practice the topics covered during the class – the more you practice, the faster your skills will improve.
Informal feedback will help you decide what else you need to learn or practise. To ensure you practice what you learn, there are hands-on tasks and quizzes throughout the session.
Self employment or better management of your own business; A more in-depth Social Media course; a course on a different web or business subject. You should be able to get started on creating and managing a strong Instagram presence for your business to help you stand out from the crowd.
A pen and notebook. Smartphone/Wi-Fi compatible laptop or tablet Apps, software used in this course. (Free versions available) Although some materials are provided (Worksheets, checklists, how-to guides, best practice templates etc.) you may benefit from investing in a guide book to supplement your learning. You may wish to get additional help and guidance offered through the free Study Support Sessions at the Macbeth Centre. At these sessions you can access the internet, work on and print homework and assignments for your course, research, access a range of software, improve your typing and practice/review what you have covered in class. You will need to book a place on these sessions – ask your tutor how. Help with literacy or numeracy is available through the basic education programme and the ESOL programme offers help for speakers of other languages. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
