What will the course cover?

The course will cover warm up techniques, physical and social interaction with group members (pair and group work) developments of teaching, performing and choreographic skills. Students must talk to the tutor first before enrolling. The course is aimed at people who want to learn basic dance theatre skills in an all inclusive environment studying among people with learning difficulties, physically challenging and slight impairement.

What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course?

Previous dance training is helpful but not necessary.

What should I be able to do by the end of the course?

Be able to practice warm up techniques used in preparation for movement and dance. Be able to interact with group members. Relate to people with different abilities.

How is the course organised?

Practical performance sessions as a group with tutors and helpers.

What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?

None

How will my progress be assessed?

Each student's progress is monitored during and at the end of each term and verbal and written feedback will given.

Higher level Amici drama courses as advised by your tutor

Are there any other costs and what do I need to bring?

You will need to wear comfortable clothes and soft shoes. Water in a screw topped plastic bottle is allowed.

What support is available?

Help with literacy or numeracy is available through the basic education programme and the ESOL programme offers help for speakers of other languages. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
