To introduce significant periods and movements in art and present in context the various museums and collections of London. The learners will be able to recognise famous paintings, learn about ideas and movements and discover the works of major artists. We will discuss movements and periods including Renaissance, Romanticism and Impressionism and showcase each period through key artworks and artists. The learners will then have the chance to visit and see the examined works in London’s museums and galleries.
Learners of all levels are welcome, no prior knowledge on the topic is needed. Reading will not be essential as resources will mainly be visual.

Visits suggested will be to public Museums (free of charge).
No formal assessment, however activities will be given to learners to encourage further exploration and understanding of art history, as a conversation starting point in the classroom or as a follow up activity for those interested.
