“We have been led to believe a lie when we see with and not through the eye” William Blake When it comes to looking at art, there is so much more than meets the eye. But often we do not know how to look. In our modern times where our eyes flit from one thing to the next many thousands of times in a day, have we lost our powers of observation and how is this impacting us? And what circumstances happened in the West that made us look at things in a linear way? Looking at art in ways that go beyond just analysing can open entire new vistas of understanding and perceptions.
Anyone with an interest in art, perceptions and human potential.
None, just an open and intriguing mind.
Participants should be able to be able to differentiate between looking art in a critical way and engaging with it in a more empowering way.
This is a five-week course which look at the different art and approaches to art across the world and will work chronologically.
Optional to keep a journal of thoughts and reflections and finding a work of art that is meaningful to you.
