We will look at, in some detail, two of the more well-known contemporary Spanish novelists : Almudena Grandes and Arturo Pérez Reverte. We will analyse the themes and styles and the influence Spanish past and current affairs have on their work
For those who have an interest in the world of Spanish contemporary literature
The course will be delivered in Spanish and English. Some knowledge of Spanish language would be a bonus.
By the end of the session you will know about contemporary Spanish literature, itsckground and the biography and most famous works of these specific writers
It is a 4-hour workshop during which. We will start with a brief biography of both writers. Talk about their work in general ( both of them write newspaper columns) styles, themes and focus on one book for each writer.
You will be encouraged to explore the work of these two authors, perhaps read oen of their novels in Spanish!
Through your contribution in class and a short final test at the end of the session
Tutor will advise.
Note book and a pen and if you have read any of the authors’ books. Just a little written summary ( can be bullet points)
