What will the course cover?

This course consisting of twelve weekly sessions will explore the origins, growth and development of London from Roman to Medieval times. Who is the course for?

Anyone interested in learning more about London's history from ancient times to the present

What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course?

None but your English should be good enough to be able to follow the lectures, participate in class discussions and do some background reading

What should I be able to do by the end of the course?

Have a much more detailed knowledge of the development of London's history from Roman to Medieval times

How is the course organised?

12 two-hour long sessions with each one focusing on a particular aspect of London's history (from political developments to social and cultural aspects). Towards the end of the course the tutor and students will discuss the possibility of a London tour to see first hand some of the sites covered during the sessions

What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?

Some reading is recommended but it is not a requirement.
