What will the course cover?

The course will consist of eleven sessions: Session 1 23/04/20 Henry II (1154-1189). Session 2 30/04/20 Richard I (1189-1199). Session 3 07/05/20 John (1199-1216). Session 4 14/05/20 Henry III (1216-1272). Session 5 21/05/20 Edward I (1272-1307). Session 6 04/06/20 Edward II (1307-1327). Session 7 11/06/19 Edward III (1327-1377). Session 8 18/06/20 Richard II (1377-1399). Session 9 25/06/20 Henry IV (1399-1413). Session 10 02/07/20 Henry V (1413-1422). Session 11 09/07/20 Henry VI (1422-1461) & (1470-1471).

How is the course organised?

11 two-hour long sessions with each one focusing on a particular Plantagenet/ Lancastrian monarch. Towards the end of the course the tutor and the students will discuss the possibility of a walking tour or visit to a site of historical interest in order to see first hand relics and artifacts from Plantagenet/Lancastrian England.

What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?

Some reading is required in order to complete independent research.
