"Talk about your likes and dislikes your habits where you live offer (and accept) hospitality cope with being unwell and getting medical care describe people eat out (and in!) enjoy the fiestas and more solemn celebrations of the Spanish and Latin American year. You will by now speak with confidence, not be afraid to make mistakes, possess enough language to cope with most situations a visitor will meet. "
This course needs your active participation - you have to be prepared to have a go! You'll be encouraged to speak as much as possible in class, to work in small groups and pairs, to work each lesson on all 4 skills: listening and understanding, speaking, reading and writing. We aim above all to give you confidence, to have fun - but to work hard as well! We use the course book and a variety of other learning materials.
You'll always have work to review and practise from the previous lesson; you'll have sentences and words to learn by heart; you'll have homework set by the tutor. We recommend that you spend around 15 minutes a day on some kind of language practice - listening to a tape, watching a video, repeating, etc etc. You will need to organise and keep up to date your portfolio of course work for assessment purposes.
Every lesson you are given different tasks so that progress can be assessed. Record of your work will be kept in your Individual Learning Plan to help record the steps taken towards achieving your goals.
