An introduction to the basic principles of setting up and using an iPad.
Beginners who want to know what to use an iPad for and make a start on how to use an iPad.
No previous knowledge required, but basic computer skills (e.g. turning the computer on; using / browsing the internet etc) are advisable.
You should have a better idea of the range of tasks that can be performed on an iPad, the range of apps available and basic usage and operation.
This course is a five-session introductory ‘taster’, with each session lasting 1½ hours. The tutor gives demonstrations and explanations to the entire class, as well as supporting individual learners to complete tasks and exercises. iPads are provided to all learners for use in class during the session.
Ideally, learners should make some time to practice the techniques demonstrated.
Through self and tutor assessment
Continue to improve iPad skills independently, or join a longer, more in-depth iPad course.
No other costs over and above the Agewell enrolment. Please bring pen and paper to make notes.
Help with literacy and numeracy is available through the basic education programme and the ESOl programme offers help for speakers of other languages.
