What will the course cover?

The course will teach you how to create your story and perform it utilizing tools from physical theatre and dance.

Who is the course for?

For those who a seeking an open space in which they can express their creativity and can develop further. Everyone is welcome to this course, whether you have performed before or a beginner.

What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course?

You should be able to write and communicate your stories to a group of people and have the willingness to engage in a collaborative and creative way.

What should I be able to do by the end of the course?

You will learn how to be a resourceful storyteller and know how to use your body expression and creativity to hold the audience’s attention.

How is the course organised?

We will work with physical theatre performance techniques. Each individual will choose as to whether they wish to work towards sharing with the group in a circle, or in an audience-performer set up.

What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?

Most of the work will be completed in class, but you might be asked to research stories and bring material to the class so we can develop it further.

How will my progress be assessed?

At the end of the course, storytelling sharing will take place and feedback will be given on how you are developing your storytelling skills and what you can do to improve them.

What can I expect to go on to after this course?

Are there any other costs and what do I need to bring?

You will require loose, comfortable clothing and footwear. Please bring a towel and a bottle of water to class. There are no other costs.

What support is available?

You will have the opportunity to have one to one support with the tutor.
