What will the course cover?

The course will enable you to learn exercises that are directly linked to combatting the onset of osteoporosis. You will also learn home-based exercises that you can do in your own time.

Who is the course for?

This light gentle exercise session is designed to suit any one who has osteoporosis and frailty.

What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course?

None required

What should I be able to do by the end of the course?

You will be able to do a variety of exercises to help you fight the onset/ progression of this bone disease.

How is the course organised?

Class structure: Succession of gentle weight bearing exercises, using hand weights, thera-bands or natural bodyweight. Including light aerobic rich movements in easy slow sequence depending on ability of client group.

What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?

None but practice at home would be useful

How will my progress be assessed?

Every week by the tutor thorugh observation in class.

What can I expect to go on to after this course?

Same course next term to consolidate what you have learnt.

Are there any other costs and what do I need to bring?

No further costs over and above the normal Agewell enrolment fees. Please wear loose clothing and supportive shoes, preferably trainers, and bring water with you.
