We are delighted to welcome Debbie Shine to Hammersmith and Fulham to teach dance. Debbie studied at Middlesex University, graduating with a BA in dance in 2001.
She now works with Greenwich Dance Agency, Pineapple Studios, and Cloud Dance Festival, while still choreographing for her own company and taking part in many other projects including community dance. She has taught contemporary dance at all levels, from absolute beginners through to professional dancers.
Debbie Shine teaches a combination of Release technique, which as the name suggests is about releasing the tension from the body to allow freedom of movement and fluidity, and Limon technique which concentrates on use of the breath in each movement. She also draws on martial arts and other influences when devising exercises and sequences. The class is performed in bare feet, and pupils should wear loose comfortable clothing.
This technique will improve your fitness, strength and flexibility, as well as giving you the enjoyment of movement and music. You will develop your own creativity with an introduction to choreography, and your own performance skills.
To join Debbie's Contemporary Dance course at Hammersmith and Fulham Adult Education Service, or read more detailed information about the course, see the Performing Arts page.
