Family Learning - Free Courses

Getting Parents Involved


Help your child to learn and improve your own skills in reading, writing, speaking, maths and computing

  • Have fun with your children.
  • Gain confidence in supporting your child.
  • Help your child to achieve and enjoy learning.
  • Share fun activities e.g. making puppets and books, playing number games, cooking and singing.

  • Play with Language for 0 – 3 year olds

Family learning classes consist of:

  • Classes for parents.
  • Extra classes for children.
  • Joint family sessions with fun and games.
  • Ideas and activities to try out at home.

All classes are taught by qualified and experienced staff

How long for?

Choose a 2 hour session or join a longer course for 1 session per week for up to 12 weeks.

Who can join?

Mums, dads and carers with children aged anything from 0 to 16.

Where?

At your child’s school, nursery, children’s centre, or community centre.

How much does it cost?

All classes are FREE

Family Sewing   
The course aims to enable parents/careers to help their children enjoy books and reading. It also gives parents/careers the opportunity to improve their own literacy skills and offers advice on progression and accreditation. This course also includes basic tuition on the use of the sewing machine, taking measurements and the construction and finishing of garments. More information...
