Family Learning - Free Courses

Getting Parents Involved



Help your child to learn and improve your own skills in reading, writing, speaking, maths and computing

  • Have fun with your children.
  • Gain confidence in supporting your child.
  • Help your child to achieve and enjoy learning.
  • Share fun activities e.g. making puppets and books, playing number games, cooking and singing.

Family learning classes consist of:

  • Classes for parents.
  • Extra classes for children.
  • Joint family sessions with fun and games.
  • Ideas and activities to try out at home.

All classes are taught by qualified and experienced staff

How long for?

Choose a 2 hour session or join a longer course for 1 session per week for up to 12 weeks.

Who can join?

Mums, dads and carers with children aged anything from 0 to 16.

Where?

At your child’s school, nursery, children’s centre, or community centre.

How much does it cost?

All classes are FREE

The course aims to enable parents/careers to help their children to develop their literacy, numeracy and dextral skills. It also gives parents/careers the opportunity to improve their own literacy skills and offers advice on progression and accreditation.
