Accessibility Support

Contact: 020 8753 3600

If you have a disability and feel you need support to get the best from your course you can contact Sean Buckley to have a confidential discussion on how best we can support your learning.

Support can be offered in the following ways:

  • Confidential discussion and advice in person via the phone or email
  • Specialist software such as JAWS or Makaton
  • Study support sessions
  • Aids and adaptations
  • Changing of classrooms to facilitate ground floor access where necessary
  • One to one in class support
  • Information in Braille or BSL
  • Linking you with your tutor before you start.

We endeavour to follow up all the additional support requests quickly and will prioritise those with mobility difficulties or hearing/visual impairments. If possible, please inform us prior to enrolment if you will require additional support.

Hammersmith & Fulham Libraries

The adult education service works in partnership with the borough library service so you can continue your learning out of class time using books or the internet. Anyone enrolled on an adult education course is eligible to join a Hammersmith & Fulham library.

All libraries are open late evenings and Saturdays. Hammersmith Library, Fulham Library and Shepherds Bush Library are also open on Sundays from 11.00am - 5.00pm. Internet access is available at all libraries - free for the first half hour if you are a member of the library (non members are charged 50p from the first half hour, so it is worth joining the library for that reason alone). Membership also includes access to online resources, such as Oxford Reference, Britannica Online Library Edition, Infotrac and Times Digital Archive newspaper databases.
